Today i found my old diaries, little books i jotted down all my little discoveries about life in. Running through their pages, apart from some sort of nostalgia, i bumped into these reflections about what, at the time, i thought was the purpose of my journey. Frankly i can't say whether or not such points are still valid for me today, nonetheless i think they introduce some useful basic principles for those who want to thread the Pathless Path. So, here they go.
In order to achieve such divine attitude, i believe it is necessary:
- to strengthen our faith in our nature and Universe: we must be able to lapse into God, to let go of fear. Here's a quote from Morihei Ueshiba that better expresses what i'm talking about here (translation is mine):
"[...] in any case i'm calm, even every time i'm being attacked. I don't have attachment to life nor fear of death. I leave everything as it is to God. We must be free from attachment to life and from fear of death and have a mind that leaves everything to God, not just when we are attacked, but in everyday life as well. [...] "
- To learn how to understand and handle emotional oscillations through that inner dialogue that happens "not into the head": our inner voice is the divine knowledge in ourselves. It knows everything, it has all the answers. It is the gateway to our subconscious wisdom. Through a proper practice, even in waking state, we can draw answers from this source about nature, true cause and meaning of our emotional reactions. This is the voice that has to replace the conscious spontaneous thinking.
- To sharpen our creative power trough the development of determination and concentration: as action and creation begin in the subconscious mind, then we must: i) clearly define our intent, never changing our mind; ii) keep the faith, deeply believing that what we have conceived has already been created and therefore relaxing; iii) perform the creative act with concentration until complete exhaustion of the need for action.
Finally and most important, when not dealing with creation, let's keep our mind relaxed and silent (exactly in this order. More to come about this). We always have to remember that mind is a tool for interaction with form, just like our hands and hands, when not manipulating objects or moving with a purpose, simply rest.
